Glass in lighting, a touch of magic.

Glass is a beautiful material and whether using clear, coloured or frosted glass, this age-old material can be used to achieve different effects and ambiance all depending on how you use it.

The finish of the glass used in any light fitting will dramatically change how the light looks, not only in the fitting, but also in the room itself. Frosted glass is the perfect choice when you’re looking for a softer, more relaxing environment. Bathrooms are the perfect space to take advantage of frosted glass, as it helps to eliminate harsh shadows. This is ideal for shaving or applying makeup!

“The beauty of clear glass is not to be overlooked. It works well in areas where you really would like to highlight a feature, or in a task area where you need direct light”

A coloured glass can give a slightly muted look to the light, but wow, does it look amazing! It’s a great way to brighten up a space and inject a bit of life. You can go for something subtle like an amber glass, or go all out and be brave with a nice bold red glass such as the Rassino pendants

The beauty of clear glass is not to be overlooked. It works well in areas where you really would like to highlight a feature, or in a task area where you need direct light, as there is nothing to interfere or obstruct the light. Don’t think for a second that clear glass is purely for function. You just have the think about the beauty and magnificence of a clear glass chandelier. The light shines through the glass glittering and instantly giving a look of opulence.

Deciding what to choose in terms of glass needs just as much consideration as everything else in your interior. There are more options available than a lot of people realise and you’re really only limited by your imagination.
