The Block. A starring role for JELD-WEN.

Popular TV show “The Block” is showcasing some of the most innovative products in home renovating and building and Jeld-Wen Australia products Stegbar and Corinthian are playing a starring role.

The JELD-WEN Australia brands of Stegbar and Corinthian Doors have installed all the windows, doors, shower screens, wardrobes and glass splashbacks featured in the 2012 series of The Block.

All four terraces being renovated on the show have significant heritage value. Stegbar were able to replicate the original front windows in order to meet the strict Heritage Overlay guidelines. The result is windows that have modern functionality yet heritage appeal.

This is a perfect example of the flexibility of the JELD-WEN group: marrying old with new and providing the latest in building products whilst respecting their original purpose.

In the first week of competition, contestants Dan and Dani won with their downstairs bedroom renovation (pictured top left above). Particularly impressive was the Stegbar White Designer Wardrobe with study unit.

So much more than a place for storing clothes, this innovative design incorporates a desk area, making the use of space very multifunctional.

Australian households want rooms that will grow with them and cater for more than one need. The Stegbar wardrobe solutions allow you the flexibility to design a storage system just right for your needs.

Buyers can select wardrobe doors and internal components from the standard range or even have something custom made.

Whether you are building or renovating, adequate storage facilities will always add value to your home. The Stegbar Storage Systems can be installed in bedrooms, living rooms, laundry and office. Wardrobes have never been more exciting.

Stegbar suggest the following tips:

  • Consider the size of the room in which you intend to install the wardrobe.
  • The ideal depth of a wardrobe is 650mm. This prevents wider clothing from getting caught in the doors.
  • Check that hinged wardrobe doors will not open onto hanging light fittings, furniture or doorways.
  • A wardrobe should be placed clear of windows.
  • If you are renovating an older home, ornate plaster cornices could be one of its most valued features. The Stegbar consultants suggest that the wardrobe should stop short of the cornice.
  • Uneven floors and walls can be accommodated in most applications.
