Line up, line up...

Look out for the new outdoor display at Home Option Gallery of beautiful timber linings and decking boards by Australian company, Glosswood.

The new free-standing display showcases Glosswood’s pre-finished ceiling lining boards in the under-cover area. The installation features the range of colours available and a large section lined with Glosswood’s Western Red Cedar linings and trims.

Glosswood (which carries the same name as the company) is made from sustainable plantation hardwood which has an attractive grain, is extremely stable and is made of lightweight timber. It can be fitted to interior walls and ceilings or more often, used to create a gorgeous resort-style feel with under-cover alfresco ceilings.

Glosswood uses an innovative ultra violet finishing process that colours and coats the boards on all four sides to give a consistent finish and a superior, highly-durable professional appearance. No sanding or painting is required - once installed, the job is finished. This translates to less mess, less trades and significant savings in terms of time and money.

GlosswoodAccording to Glosswood director, Pamela Thomson, the trend towards enhancing the outdoor ‘room’ works best when the interior and exterior appear to be seamless.

“This can be done by selecting materials that complement the interior surfaces,” said Pamela. “By using natural timber on ceilings and floors, or decking, the flow from one to the other becomes less distinct.”

The outdoor display, soon to be completed, at Home Option Gallery also features Glosswood’s new product range of Bestdeck premium timber decking. Bestdeck lives up to its name being made of various types of hardwood sourced from certified forestry timbers. This selection includes Jarrah, Mahogany and Merbau.

Bestdeck can be supplied pre-oiled on all sides and moulded to enable it to be ‘secret-fixed’, whereby no surface fixture is visible. At Home Option Gallery the new deck on display is Jarrah 85mm boards utilising the secret fix clip system.

“This look takes decking to a new level with no ugly nails or screws and is easier to maintain,” said Pamela. Bestdeck is available in a range of sizes from 85mm to 140mm wide boards.

Pamela said some of the Mahogany decking has also been used to create screening to show how it can be used as a type of feature wall to highlight the beautiful timber.

Glosswood’s outdoor display is supported by an internal showroom display at Home Option Gallery. This display features brochures, timber samples and photos.

Highly regarded by the building industry for its innovative approach, Glosswood is a previous winner of the Western Australian Housing Industry Association (HIA) Product Innovation Award.
